Nepali Thakali thali at Himalayan, Costa del Silencio: dal, rice, gundruk, rayo saag, aalu cauli and curry

Since 2025

From Nepal to Tenerife

Himalayan opened in Costa del Silencio in 2025 with one idea: to bring the real taste of Nepal to Tenerife. Our recipes come from Nepal: hand-folded momo, the dal bhat every Nepali grows up with, warming thukpa, fire-grilled sekuwa, Newari choila, Kathmandu-style chowmein and the Thakali set, a complete feast from the Kali Gandaki valley.

Authentic Nepali food was hard to find in the Canary Islands, so we brought it here ourselves.

Next to our Nepali dishes you'll find the Indian classics our guests love: curries from mild korma to fiery phall, tandoori from the clay oven, biryani and fresh naan. Nepali and Indian kitchens are neighbours, and on our menu they sit side by side.

Himalayan spices: timur, dried chillies, garlic, ginger and fresh coriander

A philosophy

Quiet ingredients, loud rituals.

We trace every recipe to a place — a household in Bhaktapur, a teahouse on the Annapurna circuit, a market stall in Thamel. The kitchen is a long correspondence with home.

Black and white, because mountains speak for themselves. Food, however, deserves a little color.
